□ Can you burn in this space safely?
No flammable materials nearby. Stable holder. Something to catch ash. A door you can close.
□ Do you have 20-30 minutes of uninterrupted time?
Incense is not background music. It is a practice.
□ Have you identified what you actually want from incense?
Relaxation / Focus / Meditative practice / Just nice smells / Exploring a new hobby.

Your First Burn: 7 Steps to Do It Right
□ Step 1: Prepare the space. Close windows, close door, no fans.
□ Step 2: Choose your material. First time: sandalwood. Always sandalwood first.
□ Step 3: Light properly. Hold tip to flame for 3-5 seconds. Then blow out — you want ember, not flame.
□ Step 4: Place immediately in holder.
□ Step 5: Sit. Do not do anything else. Phone face down.
□ Step 6: Notice for 20 minutes. Has the scent changed? Your mood?
□ Step 7: End intentionally. Tap the ember out. Clean your holder.
